Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Ivalo
Upon arrival in Ivalo, you will settle into your accommodation and have the opportunity to explore the area, taking in the lush green surroundings and the vibrant, long days of the Arctic summer. On Arrival evening we head to Fatbiking trip around the Ivalo Village.
Day 2: Arctic Watersports Day
Experience the thrill of Arctic watersports on the pristine waters of the Ivalo River. You’ll get to SUP and snorkel in Lake Rahajärvi, allowing you to explore the waterways and take in the stunning landscapes from a unique perspective. After you’ll get to experience traditional Tent Sauna.
Day 3: Wilderness Hike
Embark on a guided wilderness hike through the vast forests and fells surrounding Hammastunturi Wilderness Area. Observe the diverse flora and fauna that thrive during the Arctic summer and learn about the region’s history and the indigenous Sámi culture. As you trek through the wilderness, marvel at the breathtaking views and the serenity of the natural environment.
Day 4: Bushcraft and Survival Camp
Participate in a bushcraft and survival camp, where you will learn essential skills for thriving in the Arctic wilderness. Expert guides will teach you how to build shelters, navigate using natural landmarks, and identify edible plants and other resources in the environment. This hands-on experience will not only be educational but also provide a unique connection with nature.
Day 5: Fatbiking in Taiga Forest
Hop on a fatbike and explore the Taiga forest on specially designed trails. Fatbiking allows you to cover more ground while still enjoying an intimate encounter with the forest and its inhabitants. Be on the lookout for local wildlife, such as reindeer, foxes, and various bird species that call the Taiga home during the summer months.
Day 6: Packrafting River Juutua
Embark on a packrafting adventure down the River Juutua, navigating its rapids and calmer sections with the guidance of experienced instructors. As you float down the river, take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding wilderness, and enjoy a thrilling and refreshing experience in the heart of Lapland.
Day 7: Departure from Ivalo
As your adventure comes to a close, reflect on the unforgettable experiences and memories you’ve made during your 6-night stay in Northern Lapland. Depart from Ivalo with a newfound appreciation for the Arctic wilderness and its unique offerings during the summer months.
